ANDREW F. WAHLQUIST

Andy Wahlquist, Partner, is the former Chief of Staff to Senator John Warner (R-Va). As such, he served as principal advisor in legislative and political areas such as defense, commerce, transportation and foreign affairs.

Prior to joining Alcalde & Fay, Mr. Wahlquist was the Vice President of Business Development for Kellstrom Industries, and previously was the Vice President of Government Programs, Government Relations and Corporate Communications for Greenwich Air Services, the largest independent aviation repair company in the world. Clients included the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Army, the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Marshall's Service and a host of allied military forces.

Mr. Wahlquist served a five-year term as a Commissioner of the Virginia Port Authority, administering a $100 million annual budget, and served as Chairman of the Finance Committee which negotiated an $80 million bond issue to finance port expansion.

During the country's bicentennial celebration, Mr. Wahlquist was an executive with the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration and responsible for the general administration of the agency as well as many of the highly successful marketing and licensing initiatives for commemorative memorabilia. Prior to that, he worked on The White House staff of Counselor Anne Armstrong, and in the office of the Secretary of the Interior as national coordinator of "Let's Clean Up America," a nationwide, bicentennial environmental awareness and action program.

Mr. Wahlquist also has a background in public relations with U.S. Steel, public affairs experience with the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce and as news director with KCPX-TV in that same city. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, The Society of Professional Journalist and former director of the Wolf Trap Associates, Fairfax (VA) Symphony Orchestra and Claude Moore Colonial Farm at Turkey Run.

Mr. Wahlquist has a B.S. in Communications from the University of Utah. He is a guest lecturer on government and politics at Brigham Young University, the University of Virginia, George Mason University and American University in Washington, DC. He is the recipient of the George Washington Medal of Freedom from The Freedom’s Foundation at Valley Forge, Pa.
